Hey, i'm 19 years old and i've always been athletic and in shape from sports in middleschool like basketball and soccer and in highschool i played rugby. I also play rugby on Team Nova Scotia U20 in the summers (got some nice medals :P) but anyways! i've decided to get a new membership 5 months ago because well 1. My boyfriend (the1) is in killer shape and i wanted to start to care for my body more and 2. I weighed 147 in the summer and wanted to lose some pounds and lower my bf% and have an overall toned body look.

I have been looking on the internet and been coming up with different ideas of workouts for myself while i'm in the gym and at home. I found all kinds of different programs and different workouts so i'm going to do my own thing and just change some things and incorporate my own ideas into the programs and just keep on doing what i'm doing now. I'll be posting pictures to keep everyone updated before/after/during, etc.

I want to post this on here because i want feedback. good feedback, bad feedback, either one is helpful! Also if anyone has any comments, or ideas for me like workouts or what i should improve on pleaseee post and let me know! i want to better myself As i was saying i weighed 147lbs in the summer and lost 17 pounds since i started at the gym and my bodyfat% went down 5% i'll post before and after picture of this too!

BEFORE
WEIGHT: 147lbs
BOODYFAT%: 22%

CURRENT
WEIGHT: 130
HEIGHT: 5'5
BODYFAT%: 17%
- last time i checked bf% was probably over a month ago.. probably should check it again soon :P

GOAL
WEIGHT: between 120-125lbs
BODYFAT%: 13-14%

This in before and current overall body change, you can notice it a lot in the face and body. Never really started taking progress photos until a couple months ago so had to go back and find one on my old computer since i now have an laptop and my older pics aren't on this one.

Picture of comparing stomach before/after

Back now..

stomach: front

side..

glutes/legs

- update more pictures real soon!

You are not 17% bodyfat unless you got 2-3% on the soles of your feet.

Great progress so far!

I would recommend reading some of the female interviews on SS.com. They might not all apply to your goals since you play rugby but they should give you some ideas for your routine.

Wonderful progress. You were a beautiful girl to begin with, but you have really taken it to the next level!

The way you talk about your training and goals is very refreshing, especially for a girl (no disrespect intended). Science shows that it is harder for women to lower their BF%, but I think this has become an all-purpose excuse for lots of women to not work out at all. Maybe this problem exists among American women moreso than women internationally, but there seems to be so much confusion among women regarding the aesthetic results of bodybuilding.

Your progress illustrates what hard work can do FOR ANYONE!

hurricane92 - thanks, and no i haven't competed in anything.

haole - thanks, and yes i have been reading over some and they have so much helpful information and things that relate, its great! and it doesn't matter that they don't relate to rugby, read em anyway! :P

McQueef - thank you, and none taken lol, i just started awhile ago, but i really do love it, like its apart my my lifestyle now and its something that if i don't go get to workout everyday or almost everyday that it just doesn't feel right. i take it really seriously and am trying to see what i can do with my body and just see the overall changes in it.

& thanks everyone else!

17% is pretty damn low for a girl.. 17% on a girl looks a lot different than 17% on a guy.

jeeza_1234 - i'm 19 years old, and yes i started playing rugby in highschool, grade 10. so almost 5 years now and i've actually been to Ireland to play haha, went to Dublin and Scotland and played some teams there, can't remember the names but i remember we played the uni of Queens and killed them :P Rugby is a huge guys sport over there, they should get more women involved and serious about it! its a great sport. Also won 3 gold medals, 2 sliver and a bronze i do believe, i should go check and update it if im wrong but i'm pretty sure thats correct, also won some medals for soccer and basketball but that was when i was in middleschool. but Irelands beautiful! i loved it. and for motivation? my boyfriend (HUGE motivation), and seeing all these hot girls with nice bods everywhere lately would definitley do the trick for motivating me too (laughs) but no i belive in myself and belive that i can transform my body into what i want to look like and i have a pretty good image in my head of what that looks like so, we'll see! Also seeing different people at the gym and how hard they go, huge motivation when you're working out.. i like to watch UFC or HOCKEY or any sports on TSN usually at the gym and watching them just makes me wanna go 10 times harder on the treadmill or elliptical or whatever i'm doing!

What method are you using to read your body fat.. If you using that electronic thing, don't bother with. The science hasn't been perfected yet so it's usually way off. you should use a set of skin fold clamps and use those. Your gym should have a set with the trainer or behind the desk.

Also, your diet... or at least hte one you posted is horrible... You need a better grasp on your nutrition. Clearly you have a an amazing body, but if you keep eating like that and exert yourself as much as you do your going to look like a crack head haha... I've seen it.

I suggest you start researching marco nutrients, and the bodies metabolism. Those are just some topics to start with. If you really want a solid grasp on what you need to know to become the best you can. Take a fitness instructor course. Even if yo don't want to teach people you will be given all of the scientific infromation you need to approach it all.

I recommend ISSAonline.com.... 100% online schooling. Anyone could it, it's simple. I just recieved my fitness trainer certification.

Keep up the good work and good luck! if you have questions SS forum is the best place to get free useful information/training

Also, I think SS forum would be a little bit more interesting if we could get more women on here... They would have to get past the intial flood of people hitting on them.

Ankie - kels and I have the same problem with food, we eat really clean throughout the day but when it comes to night time we are bad for junk.. and work twice as hard in the gym to make up for it.

on the regular though, our diets are pretty clean.

we're both learning more about our bodies and getting better with food/diet every day.

I am also looking to the ISSAonline cert, I plan on getting it in May/

Nice, well if you have anyquestions that I can help with please let me know. I am always down to help.

Tell me about junk food issues.. maybe I have a few things you can try to get over it. Not only is junk food bad, but having it before bed is like 3x worst.
