| Everyone's "system" is the same. Supplemental glutamine has been debunked as having any value for strength training in terms of recovery for years now, but the supplement industry has amazing marketing departments that keep pushing it. Placebo is a fantastic thing. Can you quantify what you would consider "recovery?" Protein synthesis? Glycogen replenishment? Faster turnover of post-exercise O2 consumption? -EK | ||

| Don't you feel a slight moral issue with debunking a placebo effect? | ||

| Not in the slightest. Why would I? The supplement industry makes $60 billion a yer preying on the naivety of people who will shell out cash for products that don't work. Don't you feel any moral issue with supporting that? -EK | ||

| Placebo effect is pretty strong in alot of cases, and if you debunk it then you get rid of any placebo benefits they would get. | ||

| EK - from most everything credible I've read, glutamine is basically useless if you are bulking, but helps your body absorb certain nutrients and amino acids better when cutting. Basically the body works to excrete the glutamine instead of taking essential aminos during a cut. I'm probably wrong but I think I'm on the right path with what I'm trying to say... |

| Glutamine actually impedes absorption of some aminos and nutrients, which is why you can't take it with most pre-workout formulas. In terms of it decreasing leucine oxidation, while this point is accurate, because the average strength athlete consumes such a high amount of protein, and because glutamine is the most abundant amino in these proteins, we get more from our diets than we would ever need and there's no need to supplement it additionally. Regarding placebo benefits- they aren't physiologically real. They're placebo. No matter how you "feel" from a placebo, it doesn't change the actual processes the body undergoes. You can't "will" yourself to faster protein synthesis or better hormonal adaptations. -EK |

| They aren't physiologically real but you cannot underestimate the power of the placebo, studies have shown the placebo effect can be incredibly strong. From making people feel less pain, aid sleep and increasing strength. The power of suggestion is very real and has real effects, quite good ones and it should still be factored in that when you debunk a placebo you rob people of those benefits. |

| So what placebo effect do you suggest glutamine gives? No one takes it for strength gains or added energy or focus. It's not a stimulant of any kind, so your argument about any placebo it gives holds no water. What do you think, people are sitting around after they take it saying, "ohhhhh.... I can feel myself recovering better?" That doesn't happen, so it really doesn't even offer much placebo benefit. As a whole I don't buy your argument anyway. You're telling me you'd rather spend your money on something that offers no benefit beyond placebo instead of things proven to work??? At the end of the day, you can go ahead and take your glutamine and I won't. I'll spend that same $25 on more protein and get better results, but you'll have placebo to hang your hat on. -EK | ||

| It wasn't about this specific product it was more around the morality of the placebo effect in general which I was talking about. You obviously jsut don't get the point at all so w/e. |

| it's sounds great but not in this way I said it sounds great because in the morning your body testosterone levels are so high that will let you make more gains but if you get up from the bed and you just go to the gym you haven't let the blood flow in your body good ...your body and your nervous system need to adapt to your stats after you get up that means if you get up at 6 you can go to the gym on 8:30 ..that if you eat at 6 .... i hope i helped you |
